● Overview

Drop type (throwable, detachable) lightning arrester is a modified distribution type zinc oxide lightning arrester that is cleverly installed on the drop type mechanism of a drop type fuse. It can be easily inspected, repaired, and replaced with the help of an insulated switch control rod under continuous power supply. This not only ensures the smooth operation of the line, but also greatly reduces the workload and time of power maintenance personnel. It is particularly suitable for places where power outages are not advisable, such as postal and telecommunications, airports, stations, hospitals, and bustling commercial areas. The other performance of the product is the same as that of the distribution type lightning arrester.

The second generation of drop out lightning arresters has added a disconnector. In the event of an abnormal fault in the lightning arrester, the disconnector is activated by the power frequency short-circuit current, causing the grounding terminal of the disconnector to automatically disconnect. The lightning arrester components flip over and exit operation to prevent the accident from further expanding, and it is easy for maintenance personnel to detect and replace them in a timely manner. The flipping principle is similar to that of a fuse, where the melting of a fuse causes the melting tube to flip over.

● Installation instructions

Before installation and use, please check the tightness between the lightning arrester components and the drop mechanism to ensure good contact and flexible loading and unloading.

The upper terminal of the drop mechanism is connected to the high-voltage line, and the lower terminal must be reliably grounded and not connected in reverse.

The precautions for lightning arresters before and after operation are the same as those for distribution type lightning arresters.

When the lightning arrester needs maintenance or replacement, it can be easily operated by aligning the insulation switch control rod with the hook on the lightning arrester unit without power supply, just like replacing a drop type melting tube.
